Locally made revolver pistol, cartridges, and a snatched Q-Link motorcycle, recovered from the suspect.

Police operatives of the Enugu State Command attached to Nsukka Urban Division have arrested a male suspect involved in armed robbery and motorcycle snatching.

This was disclosed on Wednesday by the spokesman of the command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, in a release.

According to him, one locally made revolver pistol, one expended cartridge, two live cartridges, the snatched Q-Link motorcycle, and other exhibits were recovered from the suspect, identified as Somadina Ugwueke, 27.

He stated that “investigations revealed that the suspect and his accomplice, who is currently at large, boarded a commercial motorcycle along Edem Road, Nsukka. However, upon reaching Saint Cyprian Road, the arrested suspect pulled the recovered firearm on the motorcyclist, and the duo snatched the motorcycle.”

He added that police operatives, assisted by vigilant community members, pursued and apprehended the suspect and recovered the exhibits.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has directed the operatives to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspect and every other member of the criminal gang to bring them to justice.
