Police Arrest Pastor For Alleged Rape In Imo

The Imo State Police Command has arrested a pastor and his accomplice for the alleged rape of a 20-year-old woman.
The police also detained a 39-year-old man for allegedly killing his father during a dispute in Orlu.
According to a statement by Police Public Relations Officer DSP Okoye Henry, operatives from the Orlu Divisional Headquarters apprehended Pastor Ikenna Emmanuel, 32, of Umuobom, Ideato-South LGA — head of Authentic Power City Church — and one Franklin Chizoba on allegations of sexual assault.
Police investigations revealed that on June 30, 2025, the two suspects lured the victim to the pastor’s residence under the guise of offering prayers for her.
Upon arrival, Emmanuel allegedly gave her a drink that made her dizzy, after which both men reportedly raped her.
Okoye further stated that the suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation and further admitted to engaging in homosexual acts.
They were arraigned in court on August 12, 2025, and have been remanded at the Correctional Facility in Owerri pending trial.
In a separate case, police arrested Ifeanyi Odinka, 39, of Amaifeke Orlu, for allegedly stabbing his 75-year-old father, Denius Odinka, to death following a quarrel over proceeds from a land sale. The incident occurred on August 12, 2025.
Odinka has reportedly confessed to the killing and has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Owerri for further investigation and prosecution.
