On Monday, the Nigeria Police Force disclosed how its operatives arrested a member of a notorious syndicate in Delta State, Ogaga Dickson, 35, over the death of a senior officer.

The spokesperson of the Police, Muyiwa Adejobi while briefing the press on Monday in Abuja said Dickson and his gang killed the senior officer during a gunbattle.

The slain officer, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Hassan Jega, led his team to foil a robbery operation on October 14, 2024, when he lost his life.

However, Jega and his team killed four members of the syndicate during the operation.

Adejobi said Dickson was arrested on November 1, 2024, and in his possession were one Ak 47 rifle, one English pistol, one locally made pistol, ammunition of various calibres and six exotic vehicles.

In another development, the police arrested a child-trafficking syndicate led by one Pastor Dayo Bernard of End Time Army Ministry in Bukuru, Plateau State on December 2, 2024.

Adejobi said, “Upon interrogation, the principal suspect confessed to having abducted and sold 13 children at varying prices, all of whom have been recovered by the police and reunited with their families through the Plateau State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.”

“These operations exemplify the unwavering resolve of the Nigeria Police Force and highlight the effectiveness of our efforts to combat crime and enhance national security,” Adejobi said.
