Otti Inaugurates ASCETA, Abia Transport Board

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has inaugurated the newly constituted Governing Boards of the Abia State College of Education Technical Arochukwu (ASECTA), and the Abia State Transport Corporation.
Speaking during the inauguration held after an enlarged Exco Meeting at Nvosi Isialangwa South LGA, Governor Otti charged them to demonstrate full commitment in the discharge of their duties.
The Governor reminded them that they had gone through a rigorous selection process before being chosen from among many other qualified individuals and thanked them for accepting to serve the State.
“I would like to thank you for your sacrifice and for accepting to serve your state. I want to also remind you that the job requires full commitment. Of course, we went through a process before you were selected from amongst many other qualified people from the state.

The Governor expressed confidence that the members would see their appointment as an opportunity to give their best and contribute their quota to the development of Abia State.
“I do know that you consider this a privilege to serve our people and I have no doubt that all of you will give your best to this State”, Governor Otti said.
Dr Joe Emeson was inaugurated as Chairman of the ASCETA Board, while Dr. Mrs. Idowu O. Eluwa was inaugurated as Provost Abia State College of Education Technical Arochukwu ASCETA.
In the transport sector Mr Emmanuel Ufomba serves as Chairman of the Abia State Transport Corporation while Godanswer P. Kalu, Mrs. Salomey Onwu, Kingsley Oriaku Onyebuchi Nna will all serve as members of the corporation.
Also inaugurated at the ceremony was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Affairs, Mrs Chinenye Nwaka.
In a vote of thanks on behalf of the newly inaugurated Board members, the Chairman of the Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu, Dr Joe Emerson, expressed gratitude to the Governor for the confidence reposed in them and assured that they would justify the trust by discharging their duties with diligence and sense of responsibility.
Dr Emerson emphasised that education remains the foundation for the growth and development of any society, pledged that the ASCETA Board would work to strengthen academic standards in the institution.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmen shortly after the inauguration, the Chairman of the Abia State Transport Corporation, Mr Emmanuel Ufomba, expressed gratitude to the Governor for the opportunity to serve and pledged to give his best to ensure significant progress is recorded in the Corporation.
Mr Ufomba who also thanked God for the privilege of being appointed, noted that the new role aligns with his area of competence and professional experience and promised to work with his team to make a bold impact in line with the Governor’s vision of transforming the transport sector in Abia State.
