Otti has restored Abia traditional rulers’ dignity – Chairman of Council, Eze Nto Mbah
The Chairman of Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mba has said that Governor Alex Otti has restored the dignity of traditional rulers and tackled infrastructure deficit in the State.
Eze Nto Mbah, who addressed the members of Old Bende Progressive Union in Atlanta Georgia USA, on Saturday, recalled the harsh economic conditions traditional rulers found themselves during the past administrations occasioned by poor welfare package from the State government.
“Since the inception of Governor Alex Otti ‘s government, the traditional rulers’ dignity has been restored with the Abia traditional rulers receiving the highest stipend in the South East,” he stated.
He pointed out that what traditional rulers received monthly in the past as stipends was not commensurate with the numerous tasks they performed in their communities, but explained that the situation has now been changed by Governor Otti’s administration.
He urged Old Bende Peoples Progressive Union and other Abia people in diaspora to visit home and invest in Abia, as according to him, road infrastructure, security and other enabling environments had been provided by the State government in cities and hinterlands.
The monarch also said that the Governor was right not to have borrowed money so far for project executions and appealed to Abia people abroad to support Otti’s re-election in 2027.
