The Zonal Director, Southeast Zone of National Orientation Agency, (NOA), Mrs Regina Iroha has commended the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti for graciously approving an office for the immediate take – off of its Zonal office in the State.
This was contained in a message delivered at the press briefing held at the conference room of the new office complex located at number 11 Okpara Avenue GRA Umuahia.
Iroha said the essence of the press briefing was to formally announce to the general public and the media that the zonal office of the Agency has formally commenced full operation.
She said NOA has expanded its structure from a three tier structure to a four tier structure, with the coming of the Director-General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa- Onilu, who has created Zonal offices across the six geo- political zones of the country.
According to Iroha, the creation of the Zonal Offices is in line with the ongoing restructuring of the agency with new Zonal Directors appointed across Nigeria’s six geo- political zones.
She emphasized that this development is a significant step towards enhancing the efforts of the agency in promoting Public Enlightenment, Social Mobilization, and Value Re-Orientation in the regions.
The Zonal Director said the zonal office will help to enhance the agency’s ability to address local concerns and needs through effective regional coordination, noting that it will also foster better communication between the government and citizens, promoting grassroot sensitization of government policies, programmes and activities.
She stressed that the zonal office will align its programmes with the policy thrusts of the five Southeast State Governments to ensure that its initiatives are tailored to the specific needs and priorities of each state, ultimately contributing to the overall development of the region.
