Proposed NIPR House

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) is taking a giant step in its growth with the inauguration of a task team to spearhead the construction of its new headquarters, NIPR House, in Abuja.

Designed as a world-class facility, the ultra-modern complex is set to become a fitting home for the Institute’s National Secretariat by December.

It will also house the NIPR Television and the Abuja liaison office of the proposed University of Public Relations and Leadership—a groundbreaking institution supported by the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management.

Situated within the prestigious Radio House complex in Abuja’s Central Business District, which also hosts the office of the Minister of Information and National Orientation and the headquarters of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), the new NIPR House underscores the Institute’s commitment to excellence and professionalism.

Leading the task team is NIPR Vice President, Professor Emmanuel Dandaura, who has been entrusted with overseeing the construction and equipping of the complex, ensuring the facility meets international standards of design and functionality.

During the virtual inauguration of the task team witnessed by THE WHISTLER, NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr Ike Neliaku, described the project as a historic milestone for the Institute.

“This is a rare opportunity to leave a lasting legacy for the NIPR. I have full confidence in this team to deliver a landmark headquarters that reflects the Institute’s high standards and values,” he said.

Dr Neliaku expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, for championing the initiative, as well as to technical partners Mesotho Group of Companies and SNECOU Group for their dedication.

He gave special recognition to Dr Mohammed Balama, Director-General of FRCN, and his management team for their unwavering partnership and support.

In his acceptance speech, the task team chair, Professor Dandaura, called the project a defining moment for the NIPR, pledging his team’s full commitment to its successful execution.

“The progress we’ve made so far is encouraging, and we are confident this will translate into tangible results. This headquarters will symbolise the professionalism and excellence the NIPR is known for,” he said.

He also revealed that the project would officially kick off with a flag-off ceremony led by the Minister of Information and National Orientation in the last week of January 2025.

The task team includes an impressive roster of accomplished individuals: Council Members Mrs Olubunmi Badejo, Mallam Bashir Chedi, Hajiya Maryam Sanusi, Comrade Ini Ememobong, and Dr Suleiman Haruna.

Also to serve as members are Dr Sunny Baba, Arc Lawrence Chukwuemeka, Mr Solomon Dogo of Mesotho Group, representatives of the FRCN Director-General and SNECOU Group, and the committee secretary, Chidinma Awak.

As the countdown to December 2025 begins, excitement is building. The NIPR is poised to deliver a state-of-the-art national secretariat complex that not only meets its operational needs but also serves as a beacon of innovation, leadership, and excellence, the leadership said.
