Nigeria Must Not Waste 2027 Polls, ADA Cautions

The All Democratic Alliance (ADA) has warned that Nigeria cannot afford to waste the opportunity presented by the 2027 general elections, describing the polls as a defining moment for the nation’s survival and prosperity.
Protem National Secretary of the party, Dr. Umar Ardo, made the call in Abuja on Sunday, stressing that both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had squandered Nigeria’s chances for progress when given power.
“The hour of decision is now. Nigeria cannot afford another wasted election cycle. 2027 must not be business as usual,” Ardo said.
He accused the APC and PDP of leading Nigeria into economic and political ruin, insisting that their continued dominance would be disastrous.
“The recycled politicians of APC, PDP and sundry have forfeited every moral right to lead this country. They have failed, and failed woefully. Their continued grip on power is a death sentence for Nigeria’s survival as a nation,” he declared.
Ardo argued that Nigeria needed a “political rebirth” and called on patriotic elites, professionals, and the youth to rally under the ADA to bring about change.
“A new dawn is possible – if the patriotic elites, men and women, and the Nigerian youths, unite under one banner, the ADA banner. Together, we can birth a political renaissance rooted in justice,” he said.
He disclosed that the ADA, which recently received provisional approval to operate from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was designed to offer Nigerians a credible alternative to the status quo.
The party chieftain lamented that since the return to democracy in 1999, Nigeria had sunk into deeper economic hardship, political instability, and social divisions, despite its vast human and material resources.
“A visionless, venal, corrupt, insensitive and banal political class has hijacked the country for over two decades, enriching themselves while ordinary Nigerians languished in poverty and insecurity,” Ardo said.
He further cautioned that Nigeria risked repeating past mistakes in 2027 if citizens failed to reject the same political structures that had “wrecked the present and mortgaged the future.”
“As 2027 looms, we are witnessing the same tragic cycle again. The very politicians who ruined the country are once again jostling for power under the old platforms that destroyed Nigeria – APC, PDP and others,” he warned.
Describing the ADA as more than just a political party, Ardo said it represented “the moral rebirth of the nation” and urged Nigerians to seize the chance to rebuild their democracy and restore national dignity.
“ADA is not just another party but the moral rebirth of our nation. Nigerians must unite under this platform to salvage democracy and rebuild Nigeria,” he added.
