NDA Commandant Pledges Collaboration With Traditional Institutions
The newly appointed Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Major General AK Ibrahim, has paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, pledging to strengthen ties between the military and traditional institutions.
The visit, which took place on Thursday, marked General Ibrahim’s first official engagement since taking command and underscores the NDA’s commitment to engaging with local leaders and fostering a spirit of cooperation to enhance security and community development across Nigeria.
Ibrahim expressed his commitment to strengthening ties between the NDA and the local community.
“The Nigerian Defence Academy plays a crucial role in shaping the future of our armed forces,” the Emir stated.
“A strong partnership between the military and traditional institutions is vital for maintaining peace and security in our communities.”
Ibrahim concurred, highlighting the academy’s role in training future leaders of the Nigerian Armed Forces and the significance of engaging traditional leaders in fostering stability within the region.
The NDA Commandant discussed various outreach programmes the academy is implementing, which aim to educate young people about military careers and promote civic responsibility.

In his remarks, the Emir, while welcoming the Commandant, acknowledged the historical relationship between the military and the Zazzau Emirate.

The emir noted that the visit highlights the importance of collaboration between the military and traditional institutions in promoting peace and security.
He added that by engaging with local leaders, the NDA can better understand the needs of the community and develop targeted initiatives to address security challenges.
