NBA Conference: CP Giwa Commends Operatives For Adequate Security

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Bitrus Giwa, on Monday, hailed the security surveillance recorded during the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual Conference held in Enugu.
CP Giwa, in a release by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, credited the feat to the professionalism and dedication of officers and men of the command.
The commendation, according to the PPRO, came during a post-conference debriefing with key supervisory officers.
Ndukwe stated that “Commissioner Giwa described their efforts as exemplary, stressing that their discipline and synergy with sister security agencies ensured the high-profile event was held without any breach of peace.”
CP Giwa appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his guidance and support, which he said “greatly enhanced the success of the operations”.
Giwa also thanked the Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah, for his backing of security efforts. He also commended sister security agencies for their effective collaboration throughout the Conference.
CP Giwa, in the statement, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining professionalism and proactiveness in protecting lives and property.
He also urged the residents to “remain law-abiding and continue to support the police with timely and credible information”.
THE WHISTLER reports that the conference was held from 23rd to 28th August, 2025, with an estimate of 20,000 lawyers in attendance.
