A 300-level student of Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, Arua Jasper, has died during a football game.

Speaking with THE WHISTLER on Thursday morning, a female student of MOUAU, who was from the Department of Computer Engineering, was confirmed dead by FMC Umuahia on Wednesday.

“He slumped while playing football. All his friends told him not to go and play football. His closest friend escorted him in the Ambulance to FMC.

“Even the ambulance was faulty and fuel finished and when he got to FMC, they couldn’t do CPR on him, no defibrillator.. nothing and they stood there. When people started shouting, they opened his eyes and confirmed him dead,” she said

It was also gathered that the deceased had grown obese and had undergone surgery a few months ago.

Speaking with THE WHISTLER, the SUG Public Relation Officer, Comr. Odim Onuoha disclosed that he got the news on Thursday morning and he is yet to get more information.

“I got the notification this morning and I’m yet to get the student’s database. I heard that he was rushed to FMC immediately but I don’t know if his body is still there,” said Onuoha.
