LaLiga: Never accept to be second – Messi tells Barcelona stars

Former Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi has urged the Blaugrana players not to accept to be second amid the LaLiga title race this season.

Barcelona missed out on the LaLiga title to Real Madrid last season as they finished in second position.

This season, the Catalan club currently sit on top of the LaLiga table with four points ahead of second position, Real Madrid.

Real Madrid, however, have a game in hand.

But Messi wants Barcelona players to fight to the end for the LaLiga title this term.

“You can never accept to be second if you’re wearing Barça shirt. This means to be part of the biggest club in the world.

“Even if you don’t win, at least you must compete for the title till the very end,” Messi told Mundodeportivo.
