The Lagos State House of Assembly received N3.54bn for the purchase and installation of generators in the third quarter of 2025, according to the Lagos State Government’s Q3 Budget Implementation Report.
The report, obtained by THE WHISTLER, shows that N3.54bn was released and utilised in Q3 for the purchase and installation of 40 units of 50KVA generators for the Assembly complex.
This amount also represents the cumulative expenditure on the project from the first to the third quarter of the year.
The generator project had an original budget of N4.54bn for the 2025 fiscal year. As of the end of the third quarter, implementation stood at 78.2 per cent, leaving a balance of about N991m.
Other capital projects under the Lagos State House of Assembly also recorded varying levels of performance. The construction of visitors’ toilets recorded N40m in expenditure by Q3, representing 80 per cent of its N50m budget, with a balance of N10m.
The construction of ramps with an office complex recorded N150m in Q3, amounting to 75 per cent performance against its N200m allocation, leaving N50m unspent.
However, some projects recorded low levels of implementation. Provision for the purchase of 40 properties in Lagos and Abuja had an original budget of N6.22bn but recorded only N1.00bn in cumulative spending by the end of the third quarter, translating to 16.1 per cent performance.
Similarly, the purchase of backup vehicles for 40 members, 40 utility buses, recorded minimal progress. Out of a N20.67bn allocation, only N500m was expended by Q3, representing 2.4 per cent implementation.
The provision of official residential quarters and a guest house also recorded negligible performance, with just N300,000 spent out of a N500m budget, representing 0.1 per cent implementation.
