A medical doctor with the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, Anambra State, Collinus Onuigbo, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
The doctor, said to be a neurosurgeon, was kidnapped from his residence on Tuesday night, near the teaching hospital.
According to reports, the abductors are yet to make their demands.
The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the incident and mobilised operatives to rescue the doctor.
“The commissioner, CP Obono Enaghe Itam has given orders for this, and men of the command are currently at work,” the spokesperson of the command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said.
