Former Nigerian Minister of Defence, Adetokunbo Kayode, has called on heads of governments across African countries to consider working in synergy to get rid of property on the continent.

Kayode made the call on Wednesday in his congratulatory message to the newly elected and inaugurated President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who was personally invited to the inauguration of the new Ghanaian President on Tuesday, noted that Africa had the potential to become a great and well-developed economy in the world.

He said the continent would become the destination for the rest of the world if African leaders could harness all the available human and natural resources with the sole aim of developing the continent for the betterment of the citizens.

Kayode, who is also a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Nigeria, expressed confidence in the capacity of President Mahama to turn around the economy of Ghana.

The erstwhile minister charged the people of Ghana across all sectors of the economy to support the new government’s policies for speedy socio-economic development of the country.

The inauguration of President Mahama was attended by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and several prominent Nigerians including former President Olusegun Obasanjo among others.
