Juventus recorded a 4-1 win over Wydad AC to qualify for the second round of the 2025 Club World Cup on Sunday.

The Italian giants followed up their impressive opening day 5-0 win over Al-Ain to make it two wins out of two matches to advance in style.

Juventus benefited from an own goal to open the scoring in the sixth minute before Kenan Yildiz netted in the 16th and 69th minutes.

Yildiz, who plays for the Turkish national team, continued the momentum by unleashing a right-footed shot from outside the box that sailed into the top right corner.

Thembinkosi Lorch reduced the deficit in the 25th minute for Wydad AC.

Juventus regained their two-goal lead after Yildiz finished off Randal Kolo Muani’s through ball.

Following a foul on Wydad’s Guilherme Ferreira in the penalty area, Dusan Vlahovic converted the kick in the fourth minute of added time to complete the win.

Juventus will take on Manchester City in their last group match on Thursday, and Kenan Yidiz said they will take the game seriously despite booking their place in the next round of the competition.

He said: “I feel really good and I’m happy with what I’ve contributed. I’m having a good tournament and enjoying it – let’s hope it continues!”

“We know that a really tough game awaits us and we must take the game seriously.”

Morocco’s Wydad AC is one of the African representatives in the competition alongside Al Ahly FC, Espérance, and Mamelodi Sundowns.

In the other match of the day, River Plate played out a goalless draw with Monterrey.
