‘It Will Get Worse, More Brutal’ — Trump Tells Iran After Israel Strikes Killed Top Generals
President Donald Trump on Thursday warned that Iran may suffer ‘worse’ and ‘more brutal’ attacks from Israel if it fails to reach a nuclear deal.
Trump’s warning follows Israel’s devastating military strike on key Iranian nuclear and military sites on Friday that also led to the death of top Iranian military officers.
Trump urged Iran to make a deal “before there is nothing left.”
The U.S. President’s statement posted on his Truth Social account came hours after the Israeli government confirmed it had killed several top Iranian generals and destroyed critical components of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
In his post, Trump revealed he had given Iran “chance after chance” to make a deal, but claimed the regime repeatedly failed to follow through.
“I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to “just do it,” but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done. I told them it would be much worse than anything they know, anticipated, or were told, that the United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World, BY FAR, and that Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come – And they know how to use it.
“Certain Iranian hardliner’s spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse!”
Early Friday, Israeli forces launched coordinated airstrikes against nuclear and missile facilities inside Iran, including the Natanz uranium enrichment site.
Iranian state media confirmed the deaths of Gen. Hossein Salami, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and Gen. Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. Six nuclear scientists were also reportedly killed.
Despite the rising tensions, Trump maintained that diplomacy was still possible.
“There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end. Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction, just do it, before it is too late. God Bless You All!”,” he said
Meanwhile, calling the operation “a necessary action to remove an existential threat,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran was weeks away from producing nuclear weapons.
“This is a battle for the survival of the State of Israel,” Netanyahu declared.
However, Iran responded by launching over 100 drones toward Israel.
Jordan officials reported intercepting multiple drones over their territory while Israel said its defense systems were fully operational and intercepting threats, though airspace was shut down across Israel, Iran, Iraq, and Jordan.
Trump, earlier in the week, urged Netanyahu to delay military action in favor of diplomatic talks. Following the attack, U.S. officials emphasized that the United States was not involved.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned the Israeli attack as a “cowardly crime,” claiming that civilian areas were also hit and promising severe retaliation.
“This blood-soaked aggression shows the true face of the Zionist regime,” he said.
