‘I’m Not Joining ADC’ – Ex-Tinubu Minister Denies Defection Rumours

Former Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has denied reports that he is defecting from the All Progressives Party (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He said Tuesday in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists by his Media aide, Mati Ali, that the claims are baseless and speculative and reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC.

Rumours have been rife that the former minister will defect to ADC following a rift between him and his predecessor, Governor Umar Namadi, within the APC in Jigawa State.

Badaru’s supporters have alleged that they are being marginalized and excluded from the running of the government and the party affairs in the state, with party members loyal to him threatening to defect.

However, Badaru denied the rumours saying, “I categorically state that the report is entirely false, unfounded, and a product of political mischief.”

He emphasised, “My loyalty to the party remains absolute and unwavering.”

Badaru urged the public and APC members to disregard the false reports saying, “I remain a dedicated member of the party and have no intention whatsoever of leaving the APC.”
