IGP Secures Court Order To Seize Three Lagos Properties Under Investigation

The Federal High Court, Abuja, has ordered the temporary forfeiture of three properties linked to one Ayodele Ike and Dr Jumbo Douglas to the Nigerian police.
Justice Emeka Nwite issued the order on April 15, 2025, while ruling on an ex parte motion filed on April 7 by the prosecution, N.D. Eleodimuo.
The Inspector-General of Police sought an order of court restricting the defendants or associates from selling the properties pending the conclusion of the investigation and possible prosecution.
The police also prayed the court for an order enabling it to paste a copy of the order on the wall or fence of the said properties.
The suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/638/2025 has Ayodele Ike and Dr Jumbo Douglas as first and second defendants.
According to the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the ruling seen in THE WHISTLER, one of the seized properties is located at 15b Ricana Street, Off Saula Akinolu Royal Pine Estate, Off Orchid Road, Lekki, Lagos.
The second property is a 3-bedroom terrace duplex situated at House 7, Unit C Gate 2, Victoria Crest 11, Lafiaji, Eti Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, while the third property is at Block D, Crest Ville End, 7-9 Femi Dare Street, Off Ologolo Road by Maiyegun Road, Lekki, Lagos.
Justice Nwite granted the prayers of the police and issued a restraining order against the defendants pending the conclusion of an investigation against them.
“That an order of this Honourable Court is hereby made granting the temporary seizure/forfeiture of the properties listed above in ORDER 1 by the Applicant for the period of sixty (60) days,” the judge ruled.
“That the applicant is hereby directed by this honourable court to paste a copy of this order on the wall or fence of the said property,” he added.
