Groups Honour Sokoto First Lady For Selfless Service

Hajiya Fatima Ahmed Aliyu, the First Lady of Sokoto, has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Outstanding Mother of the Year’ award for 2024, in recognition of her tireless efforts to uplift vulnerable children, empower women and girls, and advocate for their rights.

The award was presented to her by Amazing Fame Concept in collaboration with the Caliphate Youth Forum, acknowledging her significant contributions to the development of Sokoto State.

“Her initiatives have made a lasting impact on the lives of many, and this recognition is a testament to her selfless service”.

During the ceremony, Dr. Balarabe Shehu Kakale, a former member of the 9th National Assembly, commended the First Lady, describing the award as well-deserved.

The Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Hajiya Hadiza Ahmad Shagari, accepted the award on behalf of Mrs. Aliyu, who expressed her gratitude to the organizers, calling the award “special” and a source of motivation to continue serving humanity.

This award adds to Mrs. Aliyu’s growing list of accolades, including a recent award of excellence at the 2024 World Contraception Day celebration.
