Galatasaray issues fresh update on Victor Osimhen’s muscle injury
Top-flight Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray has issued a fresh update on the muscle injury sustained by Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen in the match against Kasimpasa.
Recall that Osimhen opened up his goal account for Galatasaray when he scored in the 20th and 28th minutes respectively in the game against Kasimpasa but he was replaced by former Belgium international winger Dries Mertens at half-time.
According to a recent statement issued by Galatasaray, the player was substituted in the game after he felt pain in his upper left posterior muscle during the game.
The club disclosed in the statement that Osimhen was later diagnosed with strain (strain and bleeding) in his upper left posterior muscle group during his medical check-ups.

“The treatment of our football player Victor Osimhen, who felt pain in his upper left posterior muscle during the Kasımpaşa match in the seventh week of the Trendyol Super League and who was diagnosed with strain (strain and bleeding) in his upper left posterior muscle group during his check-ups at our sponsor hospital Medicana today, has been started,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.”
Moments after the game played on Saturday, Osimhen allayed the fears of his fans when he shared a message on social media saying he did not have a serious injury.
He wrote; “I do not have a serious injury. I felt a little discomfort. I thought I should tell my coach. If I reduced the team, it would be bad. I did not want my other friends’ performance to decrease. I told Mauro and the coach. That is why I left the game.”
