Rivers State Suspened Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has celebrated two years in office, reflecting on the progress made and challenges faced during his tenure.
In a statement released on May 29, 2025, Fubara expressed gratitude to the people of Rivers State for the trust and honour bestowed upon him.
He recalled being sworn in on May 29, 2023, following the March 18, 2023, elections, where he received an overwhelming mandate from the people.
Despite facing daunting political challenges that have, at times, slowed the pace of progress, Governor Fubara highlighted the significant strides made in various sectors.
According to him, these include notable achievements in healthcare, education, infrastructure, youth empowerment, human capital development, and the inclusion of women in governance.
The Governor attributed these achievements to the unwavering support and hope of the people in a brighter future for Rivers State.
Governor Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to the key priorities of his administration, including peace, security, community welfare, and the socio-economic advancement of the State.
He emphasized the importance of working together to build a State that stands as a model for the rest of Nigeria.
The Governor assured that every step taken will be guided by the best interests of the people and the enduring good of Rivers State.
The Governor, however, appealed to those still carrying the weight of recent political struggles to turn the page, come together, and focus on the shared goal of progress and unity.
He emphasized that the time to rebuild and rise is now, and that collective efforts are necessary to achieve this goal.
