FRSC Calls For Emergency Routes At Nasarawa Toll Gates

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nasarawa Sector Command, CC Comfort Ochiba Asom, Tuesday called for the establishment of emergency routes at Garaku and Eggon toll gates to enhance rescue operations in case of road mishaps.
CC Asom stated this when she visited the General Manager of Tolling Operations at China Harbour Engineering Company.
THE WHISTLER reports that China Harbour Engineering Company constructed the toll gate and also manages it. The sector commander visited the toll gate to discuss ways to ease its perennial traffic congestion.
CC Asom commended the efforts to make the toll gate safe for road users. She, however, said, “The need for an emergency route at the toll gate for prompt rescue responses during emergencies cannot be emphasised.
“We also advocate sustained public enlightenment to inform motorists about the corrective measures in place.”
The sector commander assured the management of the toll gate of the support of the command towards easing traffic challenges at the toll gate to enhance the smooth movement of motorists.
The General Manager of the toll gate, Mr Jide Oduyoye, in a speech, disclosed various measures being implemented at the toll gate to ensure efficiency.
According to him, “In the past week that we started operations, we have implemented many measures to enhance road safety.”
Oduyoye showcased an equipped control room, cameras for traffic and security monitoring, and e-tablet payment and advance payment options already deployed at the toll gate to ensure efficient operations.
He assured the sector commander of his agency’s commitment to collaborate with FRSC to achieve its objectives.
He pledged that his agency would provide security measures at the toll gate, as well as daily traffic reports to the sector command to help evaluate situations for further traffic management initiatives.
