FRSC Boss Promises Safer Roads, Improved Service Delivery In 2025

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has promised to enhance service delivery and road safety in 2025.
He made this known in his New Year message delivered in Abuja, where he highlighted the successes of 2024 and promised to build on them.
Mohammed praised FRSC personnel for their dedication to ensuring safer roads across the nation, which he said resulted in significant achievements over the past year.
He assured that staff and stakeholders of the corps’ warfare and training will be prioritised to enhance productivity.
“Management is committed to enunciating welfare policies that could boost their morale for sustained productivity and improved service delivery to the people,” Mohammed stated.
The Corps Marshal noted the importance of collaboration with stakeholders to combat road traffic crashes effectively.
He called for a united effort to address the menace of reckless driving and ensure safer highways in Nigeria.
“We cannot tackle road safety challenges alone. It requires a collective effort from all stakeholders, individuals, and government agencies,” he said.
While reflecting on 2024, Mohammed noted challenges such as fatal road accidents, drivers’ disregard for traffic rules, and instances of violence against FRSC personnel.
He assured Nigerians that the issues would be addressed aggressively in the new year, and warned that traffic violations and hostility towards FRSC officials would not be tolerated.
“We have repeatedly stated that road traffic crashes don’t just happen—they are caused and can be averted,” he said while reiterating the need for public compliance with traffic regulations.
The FRSC boss who also highlighted measures taken in 2024, said the FRSC had expanded its public enlightenment programmes to include town hall meetings, fostering conversations with diverse groups of Nigerians.
He also the corps empowered passengers to speak up against unsafe driving practices.
“Our operatives have been instructed to maintain civility and restraint even in the face of provocations while managing traffic,” he added.
Mohammed expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support, and noted that the president’s morale-boosting and logistical assistance had been instrumental in the FRSC’s successes.
The Corps Marshal called on all stakeholders to maintain their support, and stressed that road safety is a shared responsibility.
Mohammed wished Nigerians a prosperous and safe 2025, and assured the public of the FRSC’s vigilance and commitment to creating safer motoring experiences across the country.
