Family of three buried in Benue after herdsmen attack
Ngban village in Nyiev Ward, Guma Local Government Area, was engulfed in sorrow as a grieving family father, mother, and son were buried following series of attacks by suspected herdsmen.
Daily post gathered that the tragedy began when Mr. Iorhen, the family’s patriarch, was killed in an earlier assault.
His body was kept in the mortuary pending burial.
However, before the community could fully mourn his death, another devastating blow came his wife, Mrs. Mlumun Iorhen, and their son, Terkimbi, were mercilessly killed on Saturday while tending their farm.
Local residents say these killings form part of an alarming rise in violence against farming communities in Guma and across Benue State, causing widespread displacement, hunger, and deep psychological trauma.
An elder in the community expressed the collective anguish, saying, “This is the reality we face today life has become unbearably harsh and unpredictable.”
