EPL teams in UCL, Europa, Conference League confirmed after Crystal Palace CAS ruling
The Court of Arbitration for Sport, CAS, on Monday threw out an appeal by Crystal Palace following their demotion from the Europa League to the Conference League over multi-club ownership, MCO, rules.
UEFA’s Club Financial Control Body, CFCB, had ruled that Palace were too closely linked with Lyon.
But Palace decided to appeal against the CFCB’s decision. The appeal has now been rejected.
This means Nottingham Forest have been promoted from the Conference League to play in the Europa League.
Palace will now enter the Conference League in the playoff round later this month.
The six Premier League teams in the Champions League will be Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Chelsea.
Aston Villa will also feature in the Europa League after finishing sixth.
