Wayne Rooney, former Manchester United and Everton striker, has identified Eberechi Eze as the Arsenal player that will help get the best out of team-mate, Viktor Gyokeres this season.
Recall that Eze made his debut for Mikel Arteta’s side during their Premier League 1-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday as he came off the bench to replace Gabriel Martinelli at Anfield.
The England international had joined Mikel Arteta’s side from Crystal Palace for £67.5million a few days ago.
“They [Arsenal] have brought in Eze, so I would like to see more attacking in open play to score and create goals from different opportunities rather than set pieces,” Rooney told Match of the Day.
“Arsenal need to find a way to play with Gyokeres in the team.
“Eze will come into that. They’ve got some new players but it is the same Arsenal.”
