Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes, has urged his old club to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Barcelona.
Scholes believes the Germany international is the perfect midfielder Erik ten Hag’s side needs this season.
According to him, Gundogan, who has been linked with a return to Manchester City this summer, controls the midfield.
“Gundogan. I know it’s not going to happen but I think he is the type of player Man United need,” Scholes told The Overlap alongside Jamie Carragher when speaking on midfielder Man United should sign.
” Zubimendi… or I’m going to say Gundogan. A controlling midfield player just to take the sting out of play. Gundogan is perfect for that.”
