The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has intensified its clampdown on cybercrime, arresting 12 suspects in Lagos.

According to a statement issued by the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, the arrests were made on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, during a sting operation in the Ajegunle-Apapa axis.

The operation followed credible intelligence indicating the presence of individuals allegedly involved in internet-related criminal activities.

EFCC stated that the suspects are currently undergoing profiling, and formal charges will be filed once investigations are concluded and supporting evidence consolidated.
