Ebonyi To Partner Swiss Company To Develop Salt Mineral

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on Saturday held a meeting with the President of Salt Partners Ltd. (Switzerland) – Mr. Vladmir Sedivy, at the Government House towards developing salt mineral.

Mr. Sedivy was invited by the State Government for a discussion on best ways to develop the salt mineral deposit in Ebonyi State.

In a statement signed by the special assistant to the governor on new media Mr Leo Ekene Oketa said that the Governor approved that Mr. Sedivy do proceed and carry out a comprehensive feasibility study of the salt deposits in Ebonyi State.

According to the statement, should the feasibility reports come out economically positive for the State, Mr. Sedivy will set up a salt factory for Ebonyi State and act as a Consultant to the State in that regard.

In furtherance of this approval, the Governor directed the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to engage in advanced discussions with Mr. Sedivy on the economic viability of the project.

The meeting was attended by the Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Chidi Onyia, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Oguzor Offia Nwali, among others.
