Ebonyi State Denies Authorising N20,000 Christmas Cash Transfer

The Ebonyi State Government has denied the authorisation of a platform to transfer N20,000 Christmas cash to beneficiaries.

In a statement signed by the special assistant to the governor on New media Leo Ekene on Monday night stated that the Governor understands that the Yuletide season is ridden with temptations of all sorts hence the proactive approval of N150,000.00 Christmas bonus for every State Civil Servant in Ebonyi State.

The government advised the general public to jettison the link being used as its content and motive are fake and misleading in essence and form.

It however insisted that the link is not coming from the Governor or the Government of Ebonyi State, nothing that the perpetrators of such heinous acts, are warned to desist from such criminal activities or be ready to face the wrath of the law.

The statement read in parts “It has come to the knowledge of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Governor, Ebonyi State, that a misleading and fraudulent online data collation platform for a N20,000.00 Christmas cash transfer, has been created by unknown person(s) in his name.

“I am therefore directed by the Governor, to inform unsuspecting members of the public and Ebonyi people, that he did not authorize any platform to collate data for payment of N20,000.00 Christmas cash transfer. By all means, such should be ignored and treated as scam.

“The Governor understands that the Yuletide season is ridden with temptations of all sorts. Partly for this reason, he proactively attended to such needs by approving N150,000.00 Christmas bonus for every State Civil Servant in Ebonyi State.

“The general public is hereby advised to jettison the link as its content and motive are fake and misleading in essence and form. It is not coming from the Governor or the Government of Ebonyi State.

“Perpetrators of such heinous acts, are warned to desist from such criminal activities or be ready to face the wrath of the law”.
