Traditional drummers, supporters and family members on Monday throbgef the residence of a former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja following his emergence as Olubadan designate.

Ladoja is the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, and next in line to ascend the Olubadan throne.

DAILY POST reports that many residents of the ancient city have been trouping to visit the r
Ladoja’s residence located at Ondo Street, old Bodija, Ibadan.

Our correspondent reports that this is coming few hours after the passage of the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin.

The news of the transition of the traditional ruler circulated in the early hours of Monday.

A source close to Ladoja, who disclosed that the former governor is not around, said the presence of the drummers and supporters at his residence was in line with traditional practices.

“Yes. Many people are here as you can see. But Baba is not around.

“It is the tradition that drummers and chanters will move to the residence of the person to ascend the throne immediately after the passage of the last occupant.”
