A Dog meat seller in his mid-30s, from Akwa Ibom state simply identified as Erica has absconded with his neighbour’s six months old male child at Anekelane, Mile 2 Diobu, PortHarcourt since last Sunday (29th September, 2024).

We gathered that the said Erica had just stayed two months in the compound and used to kill and sell dog meat at the front of the compound.

The mother of the child, Hope Sunday in an interview with Journalists on Monday narrated how her neighbour absconded with her baby.

She said “My baby’s name is Lucky Sunday. The baby is six months going to seven months.I stay at Anekelane N0.25,Mile 2 Diobu,PortHarcourt.

“I wanted to wash he(neighbour) said let me help you carry the baby, so that you can spread the clothes, then I give my baby to him. Why I give out my baby is that he likes to carry my baby always.

“So I started chasing my other children to go inside and sleep while he(neighbour) sat on the chair while carrying my baby.

“Before I took my other children inside and came out, I did not see him(neighbour) again.

“I asked a woman if she saw my neighbour with my baby she said he(neighbour) did not go far. I asked one brother, and the brother said I should go to the lotto office the brother (neighbour) said he wanted to charge the phone there. I ran to the lotto office, but I did not see him(neighbour), till now I have not seen my neighbour and my baby.

“His name is Erica, he is my neighbour. I have also reported to the Police”.

When THE WHISTLER visited the compound, residents who gathered to sympathize with Mrs Sunday expressed shock that the dog meat seller who is their neighbour could perpetrate such a wicked act.

Also, THE WHISTLER learned that the Incident has been reported to the Azikiwe Police Division at Illabouchi, Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt.
