Djokovic Sets New Record To Qualify For French Open Quarter-finals
Tennis legend Novak Djokovic recorded a record-setting performance to defeat Cameron Norrie 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2025 French Open.
It was Djokovic’s 100th win at a Grand Slam event to become the third man to achieve the feat in the history of tennis.
He joined the likes of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer in the exclusive club.
Nadal recorded 112 wins at Roland Garros, where he is a record 14-time champion.
Roger Federer earned 105 victories at Wimbledon, lifting the trophy a record eight times. He also earned 102 match wins at the Australian Open, winning the title on six occasions.
Djokovic has recorded a 100-16 record at Roland Garros, and he has won the title three times in 2016, 2021 and 2023.
The 38-year-old will be hoping to surpass the 100 match-wins mark at Wimbledon later this month, where he has a 97-12 record. He holds a 99-10 record at the Australian Open and a 90-14 tally at the US Open.
Norrie failed to end his winless run against Djokovic, which extended to six.
Djokovic will now face Alexander Zverev in the last eight on Wednesday.
Similarly, Jack Draper suffered a shock 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 loss to world number 62 Alexander Bublik to crash out of the French Open on Monday.
It was his worst defeat by ranking since crashing out in the first round of the tournament last year.

Draper said, “It’s a really tough loss to take. Even though I’ve come up quickly this year and I’ve got myself to a high ranking, it’s been a steep learning curve for me.
“I’ll learn from this. I’ll get better and I’ll use it to my advantage.”
In a shocking result, world number 361 Lois Boisson recorded the most stunning result of the tournament with a 3-6 6-4 6-4 win over world number three Jessica Pegula.
Boisson was handed a wildcard to enter the tournament after suffering a knee ligament injury last year.
It was her first match in the main draw of a Grand Slam and also the first time she will be playing an opponent ranked in the world’s top 50.
Boisson described the atmosphere as amazing after making history in front of her home supporters.
She said, “I’m not sure what to say. Playing on this court, with this atmosphere, was amazing. I gave my all, and in the end, I won, which is just incredible. I hope I’m going to win it all.”
Boisson is the lowest-ranked player to reach the French Open fourth round since Serena Williams, who was then world number 451 after returning from maternity leave in 2018.
She is also the lowest-ranked player to reach a major quarter-final since world number 418 Kaia Kanepi at the 2017 US Open.
