Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has issued a warning to public officials against misconduct.

The warning followed the resignation of the state’s Commissioner for Transport, Alhaji Ibrahim Namadi.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that Namadi’s resignation may be linked to his alleged involvement in securing bail for a suspected drug offender.

Speaking during the 30th Executive Council Meeting on Wednesday in Kano, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to discipline, transparency and a zero-tolerance stance on corruption and drug-related offences.

He stressed his administration’s firm position against drug abuse, trafficking, and other social vices, describing them as serious threats to the youth in the state.

Yusuf urged members of his cabinet to uphold the highest standards of integrity, warning that misconduct would not be tolerated.

The governor warned that any public official found engaging in misconduct would face the full force of the law.

Also, he urged those unable to uphold the administration’s principles to step down voluntarily.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to restoring sanity, integrity, and progress in Kano, stressing that this mandate would not be compromised under any circumstances.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to justice, accountability, and service to the people of Kano State.
