Chelsea suffer fresh injury blow

Chelsea have suffered a fresh injury blow ahead of their pre-season friendly tie with Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night.

This comes after the Blues confirmed in a post on Thursday that their defender Levi Colwill had undergone successful surgery to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Colwill had reported back to Cobham for pre-season at the start of this week.

But unfortunately the 22-year-old sustained the injury in training.

However, medical assessments confirmed that surgery would be the required course of action for the player.

Colwill will now start his recovery and be supported by the club’s medical department at Cobham during his rehabilitation phase ahead of the new Premier League season.
