A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise the January 17 national convention of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) which produced Edozie Njoku as National Chairman of the party.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu issued the order on Wednesday, while delivering judgement on a suit filed by the party against INEC over its refusal to accept the new party’s leadership.

INEC, which was the sole respondents in the suit, argued that it did not monitor the party’s convention which was held in Abuja to fill the vacant positions in the party.
