At least five worshippers were killed and three injured when armed bandits attacked a church meeting in Kampani Village, Maro, in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Counter terrorism expert Zagazola Makama in a post on X on Sunday, stated that the attack took place on Friday, July 11, around 3:30 p.m, when the gunmen invaded the premise of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) during some worshippers’ meeting.

According to Makama, security agencies were alerted of the attack at about 9:20 p.m

After the police operatives and other security personnel arrived at the scene, five victims, namely Victor Haruna, Dogara Jatau, Luka Yari, Jesse Dalami, and Bawu John were found seriously injured and rushed to the hospital where doctors confirmed them dead on arrival.

Three others, Samuel Aliyu, Philip Dominic, and Jacob Hussaini, are receiving medical treatment for the various injuries they sustained.

Efforts are ongoing in collaboration with other security agencies to track and apprehend the perpetrators.
