Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

The spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka has alleged getting more than 400 threats messages within 48 hours.

The alleged threat messages followed allegations made by the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi.

Morka, who made the disclosure in an interview on Wednesday with Arise TV, added that the threats had been extended to his family members.

The APC spokesman said about 200 of the threat messages he received were death threats that were accompanied by graphic descriptions of harm.

Morka, during the interview, said, “I have documented no less than 400 threats, about 200 of which are death threats. This is not a joke, and it’s gone further to some members of my family who have also been threatened directly.”

Morka however said he was unmoved by the alleged threats despite their severity.

He maintained his position that his earlier interview in which he countered claims by Obi did not constitute threats to the former Anambra State governor.

“What has triggered this entire insanity cannot be attributed to me. I did not threaten Peter Obi,” Morka insisted.

Recall that the APC spokesman had, during a previous interview on television, attacked Obi over the LP chief’s new year message.

Obi, had, in the message, criticised the Bola Tinubu led administration for the continued hardship in the land even as he urged Tinubu to prioritise the welfare of Nigerians above personal gains.

But Morka, in defence of the APC administration, had fired back at Obi, saying “he gets what he has coming to him”, a statement Obi and his supporters described as a threat.

Obi had also alleged threats to his life and those of his familily members for his frequent criticism of the Tinubu administration.

Morka had in a previous interview, described Obi as a prophet of doom, among other unflattering names.

Wbile describing the alleged threats to his safety by Obi’s supporters as uncalled for, Morka called on Obi to rein in his supporters.

According to him, many of the threats he received came from persons who identified with Obi and the Labour Party.

“These individuals stated in their messages that they believe my comments amounted to a threat to Obi’s life”, he said.

Morka urged the security agencies to take appropriate action against those making the threats.

Obi,s camp had yet to respond to Morka at the time of filing this report.
