Arsenal’s Midfield Masterstroke: Nørgaard Deal Sealed, Medical Passed for £12M Signing
Danish international Christian Nørgaard, a midfielder for Brentford, has been successfully recruited by Arsenal after passing his medical exams and signing a contract.
To further strengthen Mikel Arteta’s team in preparation for the upcoming season, the Gunners will soon formally announce their third significant summer purchase.
According to reports, the original £10 million deal for the 31-year-old is followed by £2 million in performance-related add-ons, for a possible total package value of £12 million.
After Thomas Partey’s contract expired and Jorginho left on a free transfer to Flamengo, Arsenal is making this move to quickly address their midfield issues.
Reputable sources, such as Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein of The Athletic, have confirmed that the medical and personal terms of Nørgaard’s transfer are finalized. The official unveiling by the club is expected by the end of this week, possibly within the next 48 hours.
Nørgaard has long been a target for Arsenal, as Mikel Arteta is said to have prioritized a midfield midfielder with Premier League experience.
Since joining Brentford from Fiorentina in 2019, Nørgaard has been a key player for the Bees, helping them go from the Championship to the top half of the Premier League.
The energetic midfielder has made 196 appearances for Brentford across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 18 assists.
