Anambra Police Invite Freed Catholic Nuns, One Other For Discussion

The Anambra State Police Command on Tuesday invited two Catholic nuns, Sister Vincentia Nwankwo, Sister Grace Okoli, and Mr Onyebuchi Okocha (popularly known as Onyeze Jesus), to share with the command their experiences, as they are willing to work with them to stop crime in the state.

Recall that THE WHISTLER had reported the release of the Catholic nuns on Monday after they had been kidnapped for six days.

A viral video online showed that Mr Onyebuchi Okocha (popularly known as Onyeze Jesus) miraculously escaped from the den of his abductors after three months of captivity.

The police, in a statement signed by Command Spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga, expressed the command’s willingness to work with the victims, as information gotten from them will be vital in preventing the activities of criminals and kidnappers in the state.

He said: “Anambra State Police Command has expressed willingness to work with the victims of abduction/kidnapping for necessary action, especially in the efforts of the Command to continue to deny these criminals the space to wreak havoc and to create a safer environment for citizens in the State.

“The Command demonstrates this commitment in response to a publication in the social media of the release of the two Reverend Sisters recently abducted along Ufuma Road, Orumba North Local Government and a video of an alleged escape of Mr Onyebuchi Okocha (popularly known as Onyeze Jesus) from a criminal hideout.

“To this end, the command, while waiting for the victims to recuperate for possible debriefing by the investigating officers, assures improved security dominance and surveillance operations targeted to enhance safety across the state to deter criminal activities and ensure public safety.”
