Alan Pardew names best signing in Premier League so far

Former Newcastle United manager, Alan Pardew, has picked his choice of the very best player to have been signed so far in the 2025 summer transfer window.

The Englishman believes that Arsenal’s new signing, Viktor Gyokeres, is the signing of the summer in the Premier League.

The former Magpies boss is of the opinion that Gyökeres checks all the boxes and is exactly what the Arsenal squad needed.

He told talkSPORT that the former Sporting CP man is the best signing any Premier League club has made so far this summer.

He is glad that the Gunners completed the signing of the striker who he noted could score with both his feet and his head.

He said, “I’m a big fan. I think it’s the signing of the summer in terms of a striker because I think he does all the jobs. He runs the channels, he’s good into feet, he’s finishing off all three actions, the left foot, right foot, head, is good.

“It’s a great signing for Arsenal, really great. Been a lot of noise around it, but they finally got it over the line.”

Mikel Arteta’s side paid a reported €73.5 million to Sporting CP to acquire Gyokeres’ services after the striker snubbed a moving to join his former boss, Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.

Gyokeres attracted interests from top European clubs after he scored 39 goals for Sporting CP last season.

He also netted six times in the Champions League and five more in the Taça de Portugal.
