The Abia State Government has announced the release of the list of successful applicants who applied for teaching positions in the state.

According to the statement released on Tuesday, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, three categories of lists have been published which include successful applicants, applicants with pending academic certificate issues, and those disqualified on age grounds.

“Applicants who participated in the interview stage of the recruitment process are hereby informed that the following lists have been published,” the statement read

The statement, signed by Dr Uzoamaka Amah-Mbah, Chairman of the Recruitment Committee, disclosed that candidates on the successful list are to print their notice of employment letters from May 19, 2025, via the recruitment portal.

Applicants with certificate issues have also been granted another opportunity to present their academic documents between May 14 and 15, 2025, at 9 a.m. prompt, at the Board Room, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Abia State Secretariat.

The ministry also warned that only original academic and NYSC certificates would be accepted, especially for graduates over five years.

In the same vein, applicants disqualified based on age but who believe they were wrongly classified are also expected to present their evidence for re-certification at the same venue and time on the stated dates.

According to the statement, “Persons who are unable to prove their case or who provide falsified documents to the panel would be handed over to the appropriate quarters for prosecution.”

The statement also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a transparent recruitment process and urged applicants to comply with the directives.

Candidates are hereby advised to visit the Ministry’s recruitment portal at www.mobse-abiastategov.ng to access the released lists.
