Enoch Ali Maku, a retired Director of Information and Protocol with the Nasarawa State Judiciary and currently serving as Senior Special Assistant to the Chief Judge, has regained his freedom after spending five days in captivity.

Maku was abducted last Wednesday in Agyaragu, a community on the outskirts of Lafia Local Government Area.

A family source, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, confirmed his release, stating that Maku was reunited with his loved ones around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. The source added that he has since been taken to a medical facility for a brief check-up to ensure he is in stable health.

At the time of this report, it remains unclear whether a ransom was paid to secure his release, as the family has declined to comment on that aspect.

Recall that the Nasarawa State Police Command had earlier confirmed the abduction, stating that four persons were initially kidnapped.

Two of the victims were freed following a confrontation between the abductors and police operatives.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, reiterated that investigations are ongoing to locate the remaining victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.

“The command is working round the clock to ensure the safe return of all victims and to apprehend those responsible,” he said.
