Xabi Alonso refuses to rule out Premier League return as Real Madrid pressure mounts
Xabi Alonso would not rule out the possibility of managing in the Premier League in the future if he were to leave Real Madrid.
The Spaniard is under severe pressure after his side fell to a 2-0 defeat to Celta Vigo in LaLiga at the weekend, during which two of his players were sent off.
The result means Los Blancos have won just two of their last seven games in all competitions and are now four points adrift of Barcelona in the league table.
Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Arne Slot is also under threat of losing his job after a poor run of form. His departure would open the door for Alonso to make a return to his former club.

Speaking ahead of Real’s Champions League meeting with Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night, Alonso opened the door to possible Premier League move down the line.
“For sure,” he said in his pre-match press conference. “There’s this bond with the English clubs and for sure with my former club, but at the moment this is my place, this is where I want to be.
“In the future, you never know what could happen.”
Alonso would not, however, be drawn on the current saga between Slot and Mo Salah at Liverpool. The Egyptian winger’s future at Anfield is up in the air following his explosive comments after the Reds drew 3-3 with Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday.
“Those are decisions they have made at Liverpool,” he said. “No doubt we’re missing a lot of details. So it’s not for me to give an opinion on that.”
