Thomas Frank says that any Spurs supporters booing Guglielmo Vicario “cannot be true Tottenham fans” after his side were beaten by Fulham on Saturday.
The home crowd turned on the goalkeeper after he raced out of his goal for the ball, only to kick it away to Harry Wilson who double the Cottagers’ lead with a long range strike.
Tottenham were on the backfoot from early on when Kenny Tete’s deflected shot wrongfooted Vicario in the fourth minute.
The Lilywhites were much better in the second half and pegged the visitors back when Mohammed Kudus blasted the ball past Bernd Leno on the hour mark, but they could not find an equaliser before the full-time whistle.
The Spurs fanbase, who have not seen their side win at home in the Premier League since the opening weekend against Burnley, vented their dissatisfaction at Vicario and the team for a dismal display in the opening 45 minutes and at the end of the match.

“It is okay that they are frustrated, because we haven’t won at home for a long time,” Frank told Sky Sports.
“We all badly want to win so I’m fine with them booing after the game, but during the game I hope it was one incident and it never happens again.”
Frank doubled down on his condemnation of the booing in his post-match press conference, calling it “unacceptable”.
“When you are in a tough spell, things go against you. First one is a deflected shot and second is a mistake. I didn’t like how fans reacted. It is unacceptable and they cannot be true Tottenham fans.
“We need to turn this around and do it together. The teams was shell-shocked after the two goals. They are only human beings.
“Second half I liked much more, scored a good goal.”
Pedro Porro could be seen arguing with fans at the end of the game as tensions threatened to boil over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“I didn’t see the incident so I don’t know exactly,” Frank said. “We are in a tough spell right now and for my players it is about being as calm as possible and doing everything we can to work through it.”
Spurs have lost six of their last ten games in all competitions, while only Wolves have a worse home record in the Premier League this season.
Frank added: “This result leaves us in a place where we have lost another game. Every game has a single story, this game we lost in the first six minutes. We just need to keep working. The second half was much better and hopefully something we can use to learn.”
