Salah ‘increasingly likely’ to leave Liverpool this summer

Mo Salah of Liverpool arrives at the stadium prior to the Premier League match between Leeds United and Liverpool at Elland Road on December 06, 2025 in Leeds, England.

Mo Salah is reportedly “increasingly likely” to leave Liverpool at the end of this season.

Speculation over the Egyptian winger’s future at Anfield has run rampant this year following a huge drop off in form.

After powering the Reds’ title win in 2024/25 with a record 37 goal involvements, he has only registered four goals and six assists in the Premier League this term, with his last goal coming back in November.

After Arne Slot named him on the bench for five consecutive matches late last year, Salah delivered explosive comments following a 3-3 draw with Leeds United at Elland Road in December.

The 33-year-old suggest that “someone” doesn’t want him at Liverpool anymore and that he had been “thrown under the bus” for the team’s poor results.

Salah apologised to his teammates for the outburst and made amends with Slot, who reintegrated him into the side. Since returning from AFCON, he has started every game, but it remains uncertain if he will still be at the club next season.

According to BBC Sport, “a summer departure is increasingly likely” when the transfer window opens for business, although it “ultimately depends on genuine interest and whether Salah’s wage demands can be met”.

Saudi Arabia and the US have been touted as “possible options”. With his contract expiring in 2027, Liverpool could sell him this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer the following year.

The Saudi Pro League has long been linked with Salah. He was the subject of a £150 million bid from Al Ittihad in September 2023, which was swiftly rejected by Liverpool.
