PSG set to beat Liverpool and Man Utd to £60m Akliouche

Liverpool and Manchester United look set to miss out on Maghnes Akliouche, with the France international having made PSG his clear priority.

According to TEAMtalk, the Monaco forward has told all his suitors the same thing, and talks between PSG and Monaco are now progressing well.

The 24-year-old has been one of Ligue 1’s standout talents this past year. A superb campaign earned him a place in Didier Deschamps’ World Cup squad and established him among Europe’s most coveted attackers. His displays drew widespread attention.

Liverpool, United, Tottenham and Newcastle all scouted him extensively, while clubs in Italy and Spain made enquiries too. Intermediaries kept in regular contact with his representatives throughout the summer. The answer, though, never changed.

Akliouche wants PSG. Sources say the player has made clear that, should he leave Monaco, his overwhelming preference is the Ligue 1 champions. Talks with head coach Luis Enrique are reported to have convinced him.

PSG have been clearing space for another recruitment drive. Goncalo Ramos is closing on a club-record move to AC Milan, while Lee Kang-in nears a switch to Atletico Madrid. Those exits have opened the door for fresh attacking additions.

Negotiations are now moving towards a deal worth around £60m. PSG are increasingly confident of landing one of French football’s brightest talents, with Akliouche under contract at Monaco until 2028.

It is a blow for his English admirers. Liverpool had monitored him for over a year as they reshape their attack, while United completed significant background work. Newcastle also saw him as a creative boost for Eddie Howe.

His appeal lies in that versatility. Akliouche scored seven goals and added nine assists last season, impressing both out wide and through the middle.

Monaco, resigned to losing him, have already agreed a loan move for Manchester City youngster Mathys Detourbet.
