Newcastle XI vs Tottenham – Predicted lineup and team news
Newcastle United travel to North London on Tuesday, aiming to halt a three-match losing streak in all competitions.
The Magpies enter a difficult period following a grim 3–2 defeat to Brentford. Eddie Howe faces increasing pressure to stabilise the squad. Newcastle recently fell to 12th place, sitting just six points above the relegation zone. However, history offers some encouragement for midweek matches. The club has performed well in this context, winning six of their last eight such contests while averaging nearly three goals per game.
Newcastle United Team News
Eddie Howe manages a squad still hampered by an extensive absentee list. Notably, Anthony Gordon and Fabian Schär remain unavailable for this trip. Consequently, the manager is likely to rotate his lineup following the defensive collapse against Brentford. On a positive note, Sven Botman is fit; he even scored the opening goal last weekend. Conversely, Bruno Guimarães remains a major doubt with an ankle injury.
Nick Pope starts in goal. Dan Burn and Malick Thiaw lead the back four ahead of him. Kieran Trippier and Lewis Hall provide width from the full-back positions. In midfield, Sandro Tonali and Jacob Ramsey look to dictate the tempo. Further forward, Harvey Barnes and Anthony Elanga support the attack. Finally, Nick Woltemade could earn a start as Newcastle aim to improve their away form.
Newcastle United Predicted Lineup
Newcastle United predicted XI: Pope; Trippier, Thiaw, Botman, Hall; Tonali, Guimaraes, Ramsey; Elanga, Woltemade, Barnes
