Manchester United want to resolve Marcus Rashford ‘s future before their pre-season training camp in Dublin next month.
The club are keen to settle the matter early rather than let it drag into the closing weeks of the window. The England forward remains available for a permanent transfer.
The timeline is a specific one. United fly to Ireland on 8 August, immediately after a friendly against Paris Saint-Germain in Gothenburg, according to The Sun.
That date is also when all their World Cup participants are due back, giving the club a narrow window to engineer a clean break.

There is a clear fallback, however. The Guardian reports that plans are in place to reintegrate Rashford into Michael Carrick’s squad should no move materialise.
It would be a striking twist for a player who has not featured for United since December 2024. His preferred exit has grown complicated.
Rashford shone on loan at Barcelona, scoring 14 goals to help them retain La Liga, but the Catalans let their £26m option lapse in favour of signing Anthony Gordon.
He is now understood to be holding out for a club in the Champions League. Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest, though that may not tempt him.
United, for their part, are adamant they will not sanction another loan, having prioritised permanent sales to raise funds this summer. A fresh injury blow could shift the picture, too.
David Ornstein reports that Manuel Ugarte’s ACL tear makes Rashford staying more likely, with United now leaning towards signing midfielders rather than a new winger.
That change of emphasis could see them retain him after all. Should he leave, a replacement is already lined up.
West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville is among the names under consideration, though Fabrizio Romano notes any deal is unlikely while Rashford remains at the club.
